Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming film War 2 is being directed by Ayan Mukerji, the son of the late Deb Mukherjee.Veteran actor and filmmaker Deb Mukherjee, father of director Ayan Mukerji, passed away on Friday. Several Bollywood celebrities, including Hrithik Roshan, arrived at his residence to pay their final respects. Hrithik Roshan was seen at the funeral walking with the aid of crutches. His representative confirmed that the actor had sustained a knee injury. “Hrithik injured his knee. He wasn’t shooting at the time, but the injury occurred during a rehearsal for a song in War 2. The doctor has advised him to rest,” the official statement read. Hrithik Roshan’s next film, War 2, is directed by Ayan Mukerji, son of the late Deb Mukherjee. Passed Away at 83 Deb Mukherjee, aged 83, succumbed to a prolonged illness at his suburban Mumbai residence. His last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu, Mumbai. Alongside Hrithik, many close friends and Bollywood celebrities, including Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Karan Johar, Jaya Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor, attended the funeral. A Deep Connection to Bollywood Born in Kanpur, Deb Mukherjee was a part of the prestigious Mukherjee-Samarth family, a film dynasty with a legacy spanning over four generations since the 1930s. His mother, Satidevi, was the only sister of legendary actors Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar, and Kishore Kumar. His brother, Joy Mukherjee, was a successful actor, while his other brother, filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, was married to actress Tanuja. His nieces include renowned actresses Kajol and Rani Mukerji. Family and Personal Life Deb Mukherjee was married twice. His daughter, Sunita, from his first marriage, is married to filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. His son, Ayan Mukerji, is from his second marriage.
